Final Blog...

Keeping students engaged is a very hard task from a teacher. But to a student the guidelines are easy. Comeing from a students perspective and after reasearching on the internet i have found the best ways to do so and i completely agree with all of them. First Talk less. That doesnt nessasaraly mean to say fewer words but try to keep things simple, i don care how old and smart you student is the simpler you put it the easier it is for the student.
Also try to be different. Alot of students like techers that are spontanious and outgoin, not a boring mean teacher. Try to have a sence of humor with the kids and get them to like you. Like one of my teachers Mr. MacKay is very outgoing.funny,and interesting and thats why i like his class. History gets boring with constant note taking but he knows how to make it fun.
Last but not least...get up and get active. No one likes to sit in the same seat everyday learning. give the students a break strech and stuff. Also try letting them sit where they want unless it gets totally out of control but even when that happens dont try to rule there life. Kids are difficult and all different. Pissing off one could piss of his friends and that not good for you as the teacher, so basicly in a nutshell you need to give you kids a little space and freedom, you need to be funny,and last but not least be simple.

iPad 2 pollocies

I think that we should be able to download what we want on our ipads. It should really be up to the parents on what they are putting on there. Obviously threw out the frist few days we shouldnt so we can reallly get the space we need to get to kno the iPad and do what we need to do. that is really what should be done.

Common Sence

Commen sen e is a good reasource website. They have plenty of book reviews and things that will help students. They have a ciriculum k-12 and will help any student in need.I thinkp common Sence will help a lot of students in their strive for education.

Outside classes

Today we got to bring the iPads outside. I am currently blogging from the wooden tables outside the bcat studio thing. The iPads have a great connection to the school right now. This is hopefully something that can be done for the next few years. I would love to dof this on nice warm days. Fellow student laura valley just stepped outside for the nce warm air too and she loves it out here. Just goes to show more then just me want to be out here more offen.

End of Snow day Makeups?

Accordaing to This Blog Post snow days may not have to be made up anymore. Thanks to computers and technology we can make up our work via internet. Teachers will be able to send out work through online chat rooms and email that instruct students what to do. So now we dont have to make up days becasue we are still learning what we need to. Parkville, Mo is now useing this method. There Blog Post Is Here. With the iPads coming to bhs that could also mean the end of snow days for us...but we can only hope.

Technology Rules

The new policy of the new technology seems fair. i like the rules but somethings get out to me. i like the fact if you do this wrong you get this and that wrong you get that. but the privacy rules and stuff needs to be alot better. i mean u cant just start looking at wat people aresearching and stuff. there should be a certian reason for tht to happen. those are just my thoughts im not saying there right or wrong but thats what i think should happen.

School chairs

What if you got to pick your chair. How would you feel about someting that fits you and makes you comfortable. i for instance hate the science stools and most of the plastic chairs. its time that someone did something about this. I want a comfey chair i want a teacher chair i was to sit correctly. i dont want to be in the lame elementry school chairs. its time for a change.

Goal 2

To learn is to get new information. I learn 5/7 days of the week. Sometimes I learn so much that my head hurts,lol. I like to learn about history, I hate English and can't stand learning that.

I am gonna show my suport to all the soilders out there in iraq. We did it to we finally took out Osama so tings may just fall into place fo us. Stay storng and kepp on Trucking America we got this one in the bag.

Fun apps

A very fun app is words with friends. Its an online version of scrabble and anyone can play.it's very easy you just have to make words. It also helps you learn more words threw this game. It can help teach spelling to. I like the game its very fun plus it helps educate.

Best school iPad apps

One very good app that could be used for algerbra is "Algerbra Touch". Algebra Touch is a app that lets you "drag to rearrange, tap to simplify, and draw lines to eliminate identical terms". This is a great app for high school students to get aquianted with with algerbra and learn the right way. Also there is an app we could use for our english classes, no more forgetting your books becasue Bookman is here.  Bookman is a feature-packed E-reader at a great price: Free! These two apps could help us with our english and our algerbra.

Bathroom Privelages

I am personally sick of trying to find an open bathroom at bhs. From what Class President Stacy Bezrah says: "most of the boys bathrooms are locked because there is a mysterious uranal pooper going around and pooping in all of the uranals". I dont kno about all you others but i want to use which ever bathroom i want when i want to go to the bathroom. Im sick of useing the disgusting main lobby bathrooms. Its very unsanitary up over there and i dont feel safe useing them. So if u have any clue about these "Mysterious Uranal Poopers", please talk to Mr Sullivan so we can get this over with and use our bathrooms.

April Fools Day Snow !!!

Ive recently found out that its gonna snow on april fools day. We are suposed to get anywhere from 6-12 inches. People are starting to think that this is a sick and cruel joke that the weather people are playing. if it is its not a bad one either. But seriously people lets get real. I found this out by checking my facebook earlyer this morning. It seems alot of people are upset about this and the social networking is helping people to communicate. If it wasnt for facebook i would of never of known this and i would of been even more depressed when i saw it that friday morning.

Schedual change....

Aperently from what vie herd by the time I'm in junior year the schedule will be changed. We wont have to be in school until 9 o'clock and we won't have every period in one day. If the change goes down a lot more enthusiasm will be in bhp. More kids will be rested and learning will be a lot easier. More people will be able to eat breakfast and have a full stomach to learn. When I wake up I cannot eat with out feeling nauseas. Every body cross your fingers and hope for the best.

Earthquake!

On Thurday March 11 disater striked Japan. The earthquake cause a tsuinmai tht killed thousands and left countless others missing or injured. THe quake was underwater in the pacific ocean...so it didnt hurt anyone out there. But the huge wave that was caused did other wise. The scary part is that scientists think that soon another earthquake will hit harded but the United States west cost

Schoology..?

Schoology is the new social networking learning website. Its very simmilar to edmodo and facebook. Except facebook doesnt have learning. But thats the best part! The learning expericnce with our peers while staying connected at the same time! Take my advice and get started on this quick. Because when This Website takes off, you want to be the first one there.

The iPad 2 is here and it is the new technology for next year. the iPad 2 has alot more features then the regular iPad does. It has face time and anyone else with an ipad or iphone with facetime can chat with you. You dont even need to be connected to a phone network. February Vacation!!!!!!!!!

The wait is finally over. February vaca is here and the whole student body it pumped about it. Be ready for the week of fun that is coming into your life. Friends and family are all ready for the time of our lives as we do what we want on our free week of awesomeness. I hope you enjoy your time off. I know I will!

Should Cell Phones be Banned in School?

Obviously any student will tell you they should not be banned. But there are reasons. If someone needs to get in touch with a relitive or a brother or sister they have there cell phone right there. Also they could be like ipads. they can have apps that will help you in school as well. Lastly it will keep the student body happy with their cell phones in their pocket.

iPads in Georgia?

Aparently Atlanta Georgia is gonna be trading in some of their text books for iPads. the iPad can give all the same things as a text book plus some. The iPad has apps that can help students very easily. A lot of the apps are anywhere from free to no more then a few dollars. Thats a lot cheaper then a calculator for example. If a student needed one of those, then they just download it for free in the matter of minutes. It is also alot easier on the students that are carrying these 50lbs backpack. instead they can just carry one iPad. Atlanta Georgia is doing something good for this country and Burlington is following in there footsteps. Ive never been more happy to say that im a Burlington High School student.
